Many folders.
One shelf.
Files scattered across folders? Shake the mouse while dragging and the shelf appears. Gather everything there, at your own pace, and take it all to the destination at once. The original stays where it was.
See how it works ↓Shake while dragging, drop on the shelf and repeat from another folder. Then take everything to the destination together.
Demo: Files from two folders gathered on a shelf and copied together to a destination; the originals stay in their folders.
This demo does not access or copy files on your Mac.
Shake the mouse while dragging a file, use a keyboard shortcut or click the menu bar icon. In settings, change the sensitivity or turn shaking off.
Select a few items or use Drag All, then drop them in a folder or in another app that accepts files. You can also preview, compress to ZIP and share.
By default, dropping always copies. Removing an item or clearing the shelf never deletes the file from its folder. Moving is an option in settings, off until you choose it.
For what is already in your folders, the shelf keeps a reference and creates no extra copy. If you rename or move the file, the row follows it. If the file cannot be located, the row shows Not found.
Attachments and images from other apps that do not have their own file yet stay in a KlikShelf folder. Only what is in that folder can be deleted by the app, after more than 24 hours without use.
Links and selected text are not accepted: the shelf tells you and explains why. No link is downloaded.
Not by default. Dropping makes a copy, and the Trash is not accepted as a destination. Settings include an option to move, which starts off. When it is on, the file leaves its original folder when dropped on the same disk.
From Finder and the Desktop, plus apps that let you drag files or images. Checks with Mail, Photos and browsers are still in progress.
You do not need to grant Accessibility, Input Monitoring or Full Disk Access. During a drag, the app observes the mouse movement and only the names of the types being dragged, never the content.
Yes. In the KlikShot editor, the Send to KlikShelf button puts the capture on the shelf, with your annotations applied. The button only appears if KlikShelf is installed.
The list is saved and returns when you reopen the app. If you clear the shelf by accident, the Reopen Last Contents option brings the items back.
No. The shelf works on your Mac and does not send your files. They only leave your Mac if you use Share or drop them in an app that sends them.
