Grab a passage from a page, an email or a document. With KlikPlain on, copied text loses its source formatting. Paste with ⌘V and keep writing, without carrying fonts, colors and styles that do not match your work.

Illustrative example. It does not read or change your clipboard.

Turn on cleanup of leading and trailing spaces, invisible characters and known tracking parameters in links. If you prefer, turn curly quotes into straight ones.
Turn it on or off with one click on the icon. Exclude apps from automatic cleanup, set up a shortcut or use “Clear Formatting Now” for a specific copy.
KlikPlain cleans copied text before pasting. You keep using ⌘V, with no new command to learn for each passage.
Processing happens on your Mac, with no text sent over the network. The app does not ask for Accessibility or Input Monitoring.
KlikPlain prepares text for pasting. The updated KlikPaste keeps the original copy with supported formatting, so you can recover it later. They are two free apps with different jobs.
While it is on, KlikPlain turns new copies of formatted text into plain text. ⌘V pastes that content. It does not change what was already copied when the app opened. A link's address stays as text; hyperlink styling applied to words is removed.
Left-click the icon in the bar. When off, it turns translucent. Right-click to open the menu, reach settings or use “Clear Formatting Now”. The global shortcut is optional and configurable; it starts with no shortcut.
Images with no formatted text, files and multi-part copies are not cleaned. The app respects confidential content markers provided by the source; that does not guarantee recognizing every password. Copies above 20 MB are also ignored.
Yes. Use the list of excluded apps or turn KlikPlain off. Native formats of apps such as Excel, Word, Figma and VS Code can become plain text while it is on. Identifying the source depends on available information and may not recognize background copies. “Clear Formatting Now” can be used even when off and in excluded apps, but it still respects confidential markers.
Avoid keeping two cleaners active. In tests with Pure Paste, there was no loop, but the second cleanup removed the data that lets KlikPaste recover the original formatting. Use one cleaner at a time.
The project states macOS 14 as the minimum and produces a build for Apple Silicon and Intel. The validation on record was done on macOS 27, including Intel self-tests via Rosetta. Other versions and a real Intel Mac still need validation. Final compatibility will be announced with distribution.
