Questions about KlikAwake

What is the difference between the two modes?+

“Display On” prevents the display from sleeping when idle. “Mac Awake” prevents idle system sleep and lets the display turn off. Closing the lid and putting your Mac to sleep manually are different situations.

Does it work with the lid closed?+

KlikAwake has no closed-lid mode. Do not count on it to replace macOS behavior in that situation.

What happens when I turn it off?+

Clicking the icon ends the session and dismisses triggers that are already active. To activate KlikAwake again, those conditions must stop applying and happen again, such as unplugging and reconnecting the charger. The end of a timed session follows the same rule.

Does closing an app window turn off the trigger?+

The trigger follows the running app. Closing just a window may leave the app open. KlikAwake does not detect when downloads or exports finish; other active triggers can also keep your Mac awake.

Which permissions are needed?+

These features do not use screen recording, the microphone or Accessibility control. Notifications need your permission, and starting with your Mac may require approval in Login Items.

Which macOS is required? Is it free?+

The project states macOS 14 or later. KlikAwake will be free; tested compatibility and the download channel will be confirmed before distribution.

Do the demos show the installed app?+

They are simplified simulations of the features checked in the code. Animations of a few seconds do not represent the real length of sessions. The behavior of the installed version still needs validation.
